About The Grid Scout
The Grid Scout is an independent Formula 1 news and opinion brand. F1 is too technical for most fans and too dumbed-down by most coverage; we sit in between. Every day we pick one story, find out what really happened, and say what we think about it, plainly, standing on the facts.
What you'll find here
- A story a day, with the short video we made for it, the sources it stands on, and the drivers and teams in it.
- A weekly feature: the week's stories told as one longer video and article.
- The calendar, results and standings, in UK time.
- Coming soon: the race hub, where registered fans can follow a session without a TV.
How we work
- Every fact in a story traces to a source we name at the bottom of the page, or to official timing data.
- Opinions are labelled as ours and argued from those facts. We don't do rage-bait, and we don't aim at people.
- We're independent: not on a team's payroll, not an official F1 product.
Who we are
The Grid Scout is an independent F1 site. It is unofficial: not associated with Formula 1, the FIA or any team. Race data comes from OpenF1 (opens in a new tab) and Jolpica (opens in a new tab).
Grid Scout streetwear is at Grid Scout Apparel (opens in a new tab).
